Kūpuna Power Day at the State Capitol

The 6th Kūpuna Power Day at the State Capitol was a tremendous success and brought about the largest turnout since its inception in 2012. The event celebrates Hawaii's kūpuna and empowers them through education, awareness, and good health. This year was particularly memorable as it was dedicated to honoring the late U.S. Senator Daniel Kahikina Akaka, a dedicated statesman and champion for seniors, veterans, and all people of Hawai‘i, who passed away on April 6.
